Super Bowl Fundraiser Winner Donates Back to DP!

One of the Super Bowl fundraiser winner's Greg Johnson donated his
winnings of $250 back to the Delta Patriots. That generous donation
added to the $1000 raised in the pool to bring the Delta Patriots to
$1250.00! Thanks so much Greg!

We would also like to thank Robert Isola for his dedication to
ensuring that all of the squares were sold. Thanks again Robert!

Starts West Wins Super Bowl, UNDEFEATED!

The Delta Patriots Starts West
completed the 2009 season as undefeated Super Bowl Champions!
They completed their 11-0 season by defeating the Tokay Tigers 28-0 in the Super Bowl. Runningback Josh Capps scored 3 touchdowns and
Max Lawrence added another touchdown of offense while Anthony
Kimmons, Isiah Newall, Nicky Einess and Jason
Robidou stopped the Tokay Tigers on
defense.

This Super Bowl win completes a very special season for the Delta
Patriots Starts West. Congratulations to the parents of all the players,
the players themselves and the coaching staff on a great and
memorable season!!

Rookies North Completes Perfect Season, 11-0
On a cool crisp day at Heritage High School the Delta Patriots North
Rookies, 10-0 , faced off against the Liberty Jr. Hawks for the Superbowl.
To start off the game the Jr. Hawks kicked off to the Patriots. The Patriots immediately marched down the field with three plays by #58 Dominick
Warren and #32 Charles Johnson. Johnson scored on a 25 yard run. No
extra point was made to leave the score at 6-0. The Jr. Hawks returned by
making it to their own 10 yard line. They then threw and interception
to #1 Jairren Lillard who was then tackled in the end zone for a safety
putting the score at 6-2. Lillard then came back and recovered a
fumble for the Patriots on the Jr.Hawks 20 yard line. Two minutes into
the 2nd quarter the Patriots marched 80 yards to score on a Warren
touchdown with no extra point. The score 12-2. Patriots defense , led
by # 28 Fej, #52 Ryan Perry, and #99 Kevin Lonergan, held the
Hawks to not score on their next possesion. When the Patriots took over
the ball again Johnson ran for a 41 yard touchdown and also scored
the first extra point for the Patriots to bring the score to 19-2. Shortly
before halftime the Hawks returned the ball for their own touchdown and
extra point to put the score at 19-9 for halftime. To start the 3rd quarter
off the Jr. Hawks took the ball all the way to the 10 yard line with the
help of a few fouls from the Patriots. The Patriots defense held the Jr.
Hawks from scoring again, The Begining of the 4th quarter Warren ran
for a 25 yard touchdown with a failed attempt at a kick by #18 Tyson
Sperber. This put the score at 25-9 for the remainder of the
game. The Patriots North Rookies went undeafted all Season for an
11-0 record to win the
Superbowl.
Varsity East Wins Super Bowl!
Riding a nine game winning streak into the Superbowl, the Varsity
East were matched up against the Liberty Ranch Junior Hawks. The last
time they met, it ended with the East edging the Hawks 8-6 in the fouth
quarter. The Superbowl turned out to be a hard hitting game, especially
in the middle with both teams losing lineman to injury throughout. Nathan
Rollins, who was unable to play against the Hawks last time due to injury, showed off his touch at quarterback - connecting with Frank Kurtz for three touchdown receptions. Rollins also connected with Andrew Topete, Nick
Zalec and TJ Briggs for other long receptions. The defense shut down the
power running game of the Hawks with multiple tackles for loss by TJ
Briggs, Frank Kurtz, Shon Briggs, Andrew Topete and Nick Zalec. The
defense capped off the game with Zalec tackling the Hawks running back
in the end zone for a safety, putting the score at 20-0.
